IT Training: Transitioning from Microsoft Word 2003 to Word 2007. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., 301 Hale Library. This session will give you an overview of the new features in Word 2007 and how they make your life easier. Topics such as "Where do i find...?", modifying the interface to work faster, the Live Preview, and understanding the Ribbon will be covered. Presented by the Information Technology Assistance Center. Open to all K-State faculty and staff. Registration required.

TechBytes: Flipcams in the Classroom . 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., 501 Hale Library. Flipcams are small, handy video cameras. See how they're being used in learning environments at K-State. Presented by the Catalyst (College of Education), the Information Technology Assistance Center (iTAC), Information Systems in the Division of Continuing Education, and Information and Educational Technology (IET) in the department of Communications. IT Training: Introduction to Dreamweaver. 2 to 4 p.m., 202 Fairchild Hall. This session will give you an overview and hands-on practice with the Dreamweaver interface as well as creating a web page that has items such as meta-data, headings, lists, links, images, and tables. Presented by the Information Technology Assistance Center. Open to all K-State faculty and staff. Those attending should have experience with and knowledge of HTML or have completed iTAC's Introduction to HTML course, be comfortable working with Windows operating systems, and have experience and knowledge of the Web environment. IDT Roundtable Series for Faculty: Virtual Collaboration: Applied Projects and Tools. 11 to 12:30 a.m., 212 K-State Student Union. Online learning may involve synchronous (real-time) and asynchronous collaboration. Learners work together in virtual teams to learn, conceptualize ideas, solve problems, design presentations, develop plans and models, and form professional relationships. This presentation will spotlight some virtual collaborations for student projects and the technological tools used (learning/course management systems, blogs, wikis, immersive "synthetic world" sites, and others). Presented by the Center for Advancement of Teaching and Learning, the Information Technology Assistance Center, and the Office of Mediated Education. This session will give you an overview and hands-on practice the process of creating, attaching, and applying CSS to web pages using Dreamweaver, understanding the different panels used to work with CSS in Dreamweaver, as well as recognizing the type of style sheet or styles being viewed.
