L.T. Fan Lecture: Renewable Fuels: A Challenge for Technology or for Policy? by Harvey W. Blanch. 2:30 p.m., Fiedler Hall Auditorium. Blanch is the Merck professor of biochemical engineering in the department of chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. Free and open to the public. Part of the L.T. Fan Lectureship sponsored by the Department of Chemical Engineering.
Real leadership comes from within by food engineer and K-State graduate Adam Tank. 3 p.m., Town Hall, Leadership Studies Building. Tank will speak about his global experiences and how he challenges his coworkers to push their limits and aspire to be the best they can be.

Lecture: Dr. Theresa Hammond. 4 p.m., Little Theatre, K-State Student Union. Hammond is the author of "A White Collar Profession," and will discuss the underrepresentation of African-Americans in the rise of the accounting profession. In addition, she will discuss the history behind this statistic and some of the challenges faced by minorities in entering the field, as well as some of the strategies used that enabled African-Americans to become CPAs. Come and join a round table discussion consisting of six faculty members at Kansas State University who will informally talk about their experiences working with first- and second- year students on issues of human difference. Learn more about artist James McNeill Whistler and his influence on the art world and culture of his time in the profile, "The Lyrics of Art." A second video highlights the development of Whistler's style and technique. The museum's galleries will be open before the video screening, discussion will follow.
