Cornelia Flora is a Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University. Jan Flora is an Iowa State University Professor of Sociology and Extension Community Sociologist. Free and open to the public.
- Dan Upson Lecture: Personal Financial Management by Rachel (Ramsey) Cruze. 7 p.m., Forum Hall, K-State Student Union. Rachel (Ramsey) Cruze, the daughter of recognized financial commentator and expert Dave Ramsey, will share ways to eliminate debt, increase personal wealth and live a full life. A Q&A session will follow the lecture. Free and open to the public.

- West Hansen and the Amazon Express: A Journey of Discovery & Endurance. 4 to 5 p.m., K-State Olathe. National Geographic-sponsored ultramarathoner West Hansen, who led the first expedition to paddle the length of the Amazon River from its newly discovered source, will discuss his journey, touching on the Amazon as a natural, cultural, and economic resource.

- L.T. Fan Lecture: Renewable Fuels: A Challenge for Technology or for Policy? by Harvey W. Blanch. 2:30 p.m., Fiedler Hall Auditorium. Blanch is the Merck professor of biochemical engineering in the department of chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. Free and open to the public.

- Lecture: Dr. Theresa Hammond. 4 p.m., Little Theatre, K-State Student Union. Hammond is the author of "A White Collar Profession," and will discuss the underrepresentation of African-Americans in the rise of the accounting profession. In addition, she will discuss the history behind this statistic and some of the challenges faced by minorities in entering the field, as well as some of the strategies used that enabled African-Americans to become CPAs. Free and open to the public.
