Leung is from the the Institute for Mathematical Sciences and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The lecture will explain the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow proposal which explains mirror symmetry via Fourier type transformation along Lagrangian fibrations as well as recent progress on the SYZ proposal. His Lecture will focus on modern applications to conformal welding including recent developments in vision recognition, spectra of certain ODEs, Cauchy transforms of positive measures, trees (graphs), and lemniscates. - Lecture: (Don't) Tell: Children in the Borderzone by Dr. Debra Castillo. 6 p.m., Hemisphere Room, Hale Library. Dr. Castillo is the Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellow and Emerson Hinchliff Professor of Hispanic Studies at Cornell University. This presentation takes up the image of the child, especially as it haunts recent discourse about immigration.

- Workshop: Writing Your Next Chapter: How to Find Your Mojo and Move Forward at Mid-Career by Kerry Ann Rockquemore. 9 a.m. to Noon, Big 12 Room, K-State Student Union. Rockquemore, president of the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity, will outline the common issues mid-career faculty face and provide participants with strategies for identifying where they may be stuck and how to move forward. The workshop is intended for women faculty who are post tenure, though pre-tenure faculty are welcome as well.
