- Lecture: From Manhattan to Mongolia: Connecting the Great Plains to the Eurasian Steppe through Rural Geography by Holly Barcus. 3 p.m., 132, Seaton Hall. Barcus received her doctorate in Geography from Kansas State University in 2001 and is currently an Associate Professor of Geography at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. - International Food Festival. 5 to 6:30 p.m. & 7 to 8:30 p.m., ECM Building, 1021 Denison Ave. An international food festival that showcases cuisines from around the world. International students volunteered their time to prepare some of their traditional foods to share with others. - Basketball Training Facility Tour. Noon to 1 p.m., Basketball Training Facility, located on the east side of Bramlage Coliseum. All K-State faculty and staff are invited to tour the new $18 million Basketball Training Facility. This new 50,000-square foot facility is the central headquarters for the Kansas State men's and women's basketball teams with close proximity to game day activities and other facilities such as the Academic Learning Center.
- King Lecture: Rewiring Electrochemical Energy Storage on the Macroscale via Architectural Design on the Nanoscale and in 3D by Dr. Debra Rolison. 3 p.m., Room 4, King Hall. Dr. Rolison is a distinguished materials scientist of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. Her research focuses on multifunctional nanoarchitectures for applications in catalysis, energy storage and conversion, and sensors.

Each year the university's International Educator of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to advancing international education at Kansas State University. One faculty, staff, administrator or other member of the K-State community is selected and will be honored for their major contributions and sustained commitment to advancing international education at K-State. The International Educator of the Year is recognized annually during International Education Week and is awarded a $1,000 honorarium.

- Colloquium: A Microdomain Model of Electrical Activity in Cardiac Tissue by Joyce Lin. 2:30 p.m., 122, Cardwell Hall. Lin is a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Utah. She will introduce the mechanisms behind cardiac conduction and present and discuss results from a new model for the electrical activity in cardiac cells. Free and open to the public.
