Performance Series: A Chorus Line. 7:30 p.m., McCain Auditorium. In an empty theater, on a bare stage, casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete. For 17 dancers, this audition is the chance of a lifetime. It's what they've worked for - with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every day of their lives. Performance Series: Sweet Honey In The Rock. 7:30 p.m., McCain Auditorium. The internationally renowned and Grammy-nominated a cappella ensemble, has been a vital and innovative presence in the music culture of Washington, D.C., and in communities of conscience around the world. Rooted in a deeply held commitment to create music out of the rich textures of African-American traditions, Sweet Honey In The Rock possesses a stunning vocal prowess that captures the complex sounds of blues, spirituals, traditional gospel hymns, rap, reggae, African chants, hip-hop, ancient lullabies and jazz improvisation. Performance Series: Drumline Live. 7:30 p.m., McCain Auditorium. A showstopping attraction created by the music team behind 20th Century Fox's hit movie "Drumline," brings show-style marching bands to the theatrical stage. The energetic cast has honed its precision through years of training in historically black college and university marching band programs across the southern United States. This versatile group of musicians and dancers brings an explosive energy and athleticism to an eclectic mix of sounds. Equally at home with the hottest contemporary hip-hop, rhythm and blues, classic Motown tunes and the rousing sounds of the great brass tradition, "DRUMLine Live" is thrilled to share the American marching band experience with a wider audience. Performance Series: McCain Student Showcase. 4 p.m., McCain Auditorium. McCain Auditorium has helped shape the lives of countless Kansas State University students for more than four decades. To honor this legacy, McCain Auditorium is hosting the third annual McCain Student Showcase. The showcase will present a collage of several juried performances from students in the K-State music, theater and dance programs. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to life on stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre - not a handsome prince - shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and more than a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Performance Series: Joe Goode Performance Group: The Rambler. 7:30 p.m., McCain Auditorium. The Joe Goode Performance Group brings to life that mysterious and restless drifter who just can't stay put. Part American cultural icon, part global historic figure, "The Rambler" is Clint Eastwood meets Siddhartha. With an original score composed by Jesse Olsen Bay and scenic design by legendary puppeteer Basil Twist, Joe Goode and his virtuosic troupe of dancers use dance, song and spoken word to blur the line between theater and dance to make "The Rambler" a work that will not only entertain, but also provoke and inspire.
