Performance Series: Turtle Island Quartet with Special Guest Tierney Sutton. 7:30 p.m., McCain Auditorium. This double Grammy-winning quartet that has redefined chamber jazz for more than 25 years is joined by the great jazz vocalist Tierney Sutton in a concert that answers the simple question: What inspires us? From the moving traditional hymn "Wade in the Water" to Joni Mitchell's "All I Want," to settings of Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" and words of Hafiz and Rumi, "Poets & Prayers" celebrates the muse in all its forms. Performance Series: A Leahy Family Christmas. 7:30 p.m., McCain Auditorium. Leahy is an award-winning band that grew up playing music together on the family farm (with no television), exploring their Irish-Scottish musical roots while perfecting their talents.
