Held the first and last Tuesday of the month, these free classes are expanded versions of the ARTSmart classes and similar to our school tour offerings. Classes will be split by age so that older children may participate in more challenging discussion and activities. Younger children will participate in games or story time activities.

In 1879 American artist James McNeill Whistler arrived in Italy with a commission from the Fine Arts Society of London to create twelve etchings of Venice. During the ensuing fourteen months, he produced a body of prints that are among the most important of his career. This exhibition presents eleven of Whistler's Venice works alongside prints by other artists who worked in Italy during the late-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A mingling of perspectives allows the viewer to appreciate Whistler's innovations and his impact on other artists. The exhibition is organized by the Syracuse University Art Galleries, New York.

In 1879 American artist James McNeill Whistler arrived in Italy with a commission from the Fine Arts Society of London to create twelve etchings of Venice. During the ensuing fourteen months, he produced a body of prints that are among the most important of his career. This exhibition presents eleven of Whistler's Venice works alongside prints by other artists who worked in Italy during the late-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A mingling of perspectives allows the viewer to appreciate Whistler's innovations and his impact on other artists. The exhibition is organized by the Syracuse University Art Galleries, New York.

In 1879 American artist James McNeill Whistler arrived in Italy with a commission from the Fine Arts Society of London to create twelve etchings of Venice. During the ensuing fourteen months, he produced a body of prints that are among the most important of his career. This exhibition presents eleven of Whistler's Venice works alongside prints by other artists who worked in Italy during the late-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A mingling of perspectives allows the viewer to appreciate Whistler's innovations and his impact on other artists. The exhibition is organized by the Syracuse University Art Galleries, New York.

- Finding Mama In Academia: An Examination of the Impact of Black Female Professors on the Success of Black Students by Tosha Sampson-Choma. Noon, Hemisphere Room, Hale Library. Sampson-Choma's current study involves an ethnographic approach to understanding the impact of black female instructors on their students. - Performance Series: Itzhak Perlman. 4 p.m., McCain Auditorium. Itzhak Perlman enjoys a superstar status rarely afforded a classical musician. Beloved for his charm and humanity as well as his talent, he is treasured by audiences throughout the world who respond not only to his remarkable artistry, but also to his irrepressible joy in making music. In January 2009 Perlman performed at the inauguration of President Barack Obama with clarinetist Anthony McGill, pianist Gabriela Montero and cellist Yo-Yo Ma, premiering a piece written for the occasion by John Williams. In December 2003 the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts granted Perlman a Kennedy Center Honor celebrating his distinguished achievements and contributions to the cultural and educational life of our nation. Hammond is the author of "A White Collar Profession," and will discuss the underrepresentation of African-Americans in the rise of the accounting profession. In 1879 American artist James McNeill Whistler arrived in Italy with a commission from the Fine Arts Society of London to create twelve etchings of Venice. During the ensuing fourteen months, he produced a body of prints that are among the most important of his career. This exhibition presents eleven of Whistler's Venice works alongside prints by other artists who worked in Italy during the late-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A mingling of perspectives allows the viewer to appreciate Whistler's innovations and his impact on other artists. The exhibition is organized by the Syracuse University Art Galleries, New York.
