Konza is a large kinetic sculpture inspired by the natural beauty and movement of the nearby Konza prairie, and is the newest addition to the Beach Museum of Art's permanent collection. A five-day series of courses in Biosafety and Biocontainment for BSL-3 Laboratory Workers designed for biosafety professionals, researchers and laboratorians to enhance individual knowledge and meet the scientific, regulatory, biocontainment, biosafety, and engineering challenges associated with working in a biocontainment facility. Lecture: Inequality at Birth: Causes and Consequences by Janet M. Currie. 8 p.m., Flint Hills Room, K-State Student Union. Janet Currie is the Henry Putnam Professor of Economics and Public Affairs and director of Princeton's Center for Health and Wellbeing. Her research focuses on the health and well-being of children, in particular on socioeconomic differences in child health and on environmental threats to children's health.
