Study Abroad Exhibit. September 14 through October 9, Chang Gallery, Seaton Hall. An exhibit of projects and activities completed by College of Architecture, Planning and Design students who participated in study abroad programs during spring and summer of 2009. Sponsored by the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Exhibit: Remarkable Women by Jennifer Randall. through October 13, 2009. Kemper Art Gallery, K-State Student Union. Randall's paintings of historical women are contemporary in style and bright in color. She considers them to be biographic, almost journalistic in that they are capturing a story of the present or the past.
Recreating Oz: An Academic Conference for Fans and Scholars. 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Little Theater, K-State Student Union. Recreating Oz is a series of panel presentations from Baum's famous novel and its recreation through fiction, film, and comics. Registration is required.
Lecture: The Marvelous Comics of Oz. 7:30 p.m., K-State Alumni Center Ballroom. Eric Shanower and Skottie Young, creators of the Marvel Comic "The Wizard of Oz," will present the lecture.

Faculty/Gradute Student Library Day. 9:00am-12:00pm, 1:30-4:30pm, Hale Library. All the library classes faculty and graduate students need, in one day, much like a conference. Three concurrent sessions will be offered in the morning at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00; the classes will be repeated in the afternoon at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30. You are welcome to come for just one workshop, attend a couple, or stay for all of them. Registration and more information.

Lecture: Ecological Forecasting In a Changing World by Walter Dodds, Division of Biology. 3:30 p.m., Little Theater, K-State Student Union. Part of the 2008-2009 Commerce Bank Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award Lecture Series. A reception follows the lecture.
Denim Drive: Cotton. From Blue to Green. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., K-State Student Union. All denim donations accepted (jeans, shorts, skirts, have holes, stains, etc). All pieces collected will be donated to Habitat for Humanity and turned into insulation to rebuild houses on the Gulf Coast.

IT Training: Transitioning from Microsoft Word 2003 to Word 2007. 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., 401 Hale Library. This session will give you an overview of the new features in Word 2007 and how they make your life easier. Topics such as "Where do i find...?", modifying the interface to work faster, the Live Preview, and understanding the Ribbon will be covered. This session will give you an overview and hands-on practice with reading and interpreting basic html coding and creating a web page that has items such as meta-data, headings, lists, links, images, and tables. Salina: Division of Facilities Van Operator Training. 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., 101 Facilities Room, K-State at Salina. National Safety Council training will be conducted for all operators and/or potential operators of motor pool vans operated by K-State faculty, staff, and students. Exhibition: Renewal: K-State Art Department Faculty Biennial. September 11 through December 24, 2009, Beach Museum of Art. The Biennial features work completed by art department faculty within the past two years. This is an opportunity to examine the depth and quality of art being created by those leading the art department, so take some time when visiting the exhibition, and enjoy the work by K-State's outstanding faculty artists.
