Lecture: Lacy: The Great White Permease by Dr. Ron Kaback. 4 p.m., Town Hall Room, Leadership Studies. Dr. Kaback is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and Professor of Physiology, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, and the Molecular Biology Institute at UCLA. Refreshments will be at 3:30 p.m. in Leadership Room 111. Free and open to the public. Part of the Provost Lectures on Excellence in Scholarship. Vernon Larson Lecture: Engineering in a Global Workplace Including Advancing Women in Engineering by Noel Schulz, First Lady. Luncheon: 11:30 a.m. (reservations required), Lecture: 12:15 p.m. Ballroom, Holiday Inn. Luncheon is $15, and reservations are required by 9 a.m. on October 17. Lecture is free and open to the public. Schulz is the Associate Dean of Enginerring and Paslay Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering.
