Adjustment to U.S. Culture Workshop,
International Student Center - 6:30 p.m.
International students, scholars, and dependents in their first year in the U.S. will discuss adjusting to U.S. culture. Learn about the normal pattern of cultural adjustment, including tips for adjustment and campus and community resources.

Presented by Pam Foster and Michelle White-Godinet of the Office of Affirmative Action. They will offer an overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for supervisors, directors, deans and department heads. The workshop includes a formal presentation, small group discussion and hands-on activities. Topics covered include employer/employee responsibilities, reasonable accommodation, discrimination, fair employment practices, and university policy concerning the ADA.

Conducted by K-State Human Resources. The purpose of the session is to create an awareness of the needs of others in order to accept and acknowledge how their needs differ from our own needs. Respectful working relationships and respectful workplaces are integral components to increased productivity, teamwork, and morale. The skills learned in their session will contribute to the minimization of negative conflict and subsequently discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints.
