Professional Pilot

Graduates of K-State's Professional Pilot bachelor's degree are qualified commercial pilots equipped to enter a variety of fields, including corporate aviation, charter flying, regional aviation, aviation management, and aviation education. The flight training program is FAR 141 approved, and enables students to meet the minimum commercial flight hour requirement in 190 hours instead of the typical 250. Flight training is conducted using a diverse array of air crafts, transitioning from Cessna 172s to Bonanzas, Barons, Motorgliders, and sail planes. Both standard and full graphic simulators are utilized during training, as well. A significant time commitment is required for flight training, and the lab times described within the pilot courses only reflect the minimum amount of devoted time. Prior to the commencement of flight training, students must obtain a medical certificate from an aviation medical examiner.
