iSIS Customer Survey (Gould)

Rebecca Gould had distributed sample online customer feedback options by email .  Two options presented:  iSIS Suggestion Box, and iSIS Survey.  Consensus:  both options are needed.  Suggestion Box could be a feedback button available for immediate submission.  Adding iSIS role was suggested.  The more extensive iSIS Survey could be administered periodically for more detailed information from users.

Graduation Processing Subcommittee Progress (reader cards, etc.) (Crow)

Reminder: access for May 2010 processing ends May 4, 2010.

Sample reader cards were distributed.

Will data be available as CSV?  Yes.
Graduation Honors projection can be run ONCE; what date should it be run?  May 1.
In future, University Honors Program will be added.  For now, colleges need to add graduation honors to reader cards.

Minors Training Reminder (Crow)

Fifteen attended Minors Training.  Next training will be May 27 – it is imperative that staff attend training.  Spreadsheet process for minors probably will continue through May 2011.

End-of-Semester/Grades Processing Dates (Crow)

Handout: May 2010 Grade Submission Strategy – Task Force
Mike was asked to send electronic version of handout for distribution by colleges.

#1 point:  run periodic grade roster list to be sure grades are being submitted for non-standard sessions.  Emails are generated to remind faculty to submit grades for non-standard sessions.

“Grades saved” message says “check if grades are approved and save again” and repeats every time the save button is clicked.

I/NR Grades Report will be distributed TUESDAY, APRIL 27 and is due to Registrar by
5:00 PM on TUESDAY MAY 11.  This is a FIRM DEADLINE.  Use letterhead (one letter per student) to retain “Incomplete” status.  Individual letters are required because they will be imaged for each student’s record.

Class Schedule Training (Crow)

See handout: iSIS Class Schedule Calendar.

MATH 100/101, FSHS 010, 011, 012 – Technical Solution   (Crow)

Handout: Special Designation of Class Section Identifiers

Technical solution is to add “Topic” that identifies section (e.g., MATH 100 “Studio Option,” FSHS 010 “Salina Orientation”) and will remain in place through Week 3 of the term, then will be removed.  This will more clearly identify differentiated sections during enrollment, but will not be recorded on the transcript.

FS/AAC has tabled action on the MATH 101 and FSHS 011/012 proposals.  Dan Moser will contact faculty representatives on FS/AAC (i.e., Kevin Roberts for HE).

Brainstorming Session Discussion (Carlin, Crow)

Lynn Carlin had distributed by email document titled “iSIS Task Force Brainstorming Session, February 10, 2010 – 114 Hale Library” for discussion of results.

Items accomplished:

6: Names/birth dates displayed for identification. Can plan be added? Not easily – see #27. Can eID be added? More easily done, but not as helpful. Can there be an “advanced search” or “details” button? Will come back to this.

7: Adviser name added to Grad App report.

35: Ability to download Excel spreadsheets

10: Icon for changing adviser flag added. Ease of use much is appreciated by advisers!

49: Default parameters on current semester can be established by user.

Review of other times:

1a: “Too many screens” – action postponed; may be resolved in 9.0. See handout: Academic Fresh Start and Academic Forgiveness Cum GPA is now in Statistics section of the Academics tab in Student Services Center.

5: Can’t see student’s plan in another college. John will look into it. Academics Tab/Student Services Center?

2: Will revise both Adviser page and Student Center to have tabs for DARS and Term History.

9a: Need to include OVERALL hours in Student Service Center. (KSU graded, nongraded, transfer, retakes)

12a: Item is not an iSIS issue.

20/21: Items are in progress. (iSIS user feedback)

26: Questions: what fields are not auto-populating? Fields should be in same order.

27: Search function should search across IDs. Add eID? Would slow system down. Need more info on scope of need.

47: Easier report access for favorites - default to current term: use SACR to set up. To clear out unused/outdated Run Control IDs, submit user ID and list of run controls to delete to Mike/John. Will work on way to allow users can to unwanted run controls.

48: Remove from list – edited beyond recognition.

51: Development of “purple calendar” – workflow calendar – is in progress.

54: Repository for committee/subcommittee reports. Communication is an issue. Own site? Available to broader university? Role and reporting of ITF? ITF initially was appointed by CAPP for iSIS implementation.

3: Ability to see what students and faculty are seeing: help screens need to be updated; can use CS2. What roles do people have? What can they see? New CIO, security administrator and iSIS project coordinator will give leadership this issue.

12a/12b: should be combined; not an iSIS issue.

REMINDER:

“When offered” report is due in July.
