Non-standard Time Requests:

The following requests for non-standard class meeting times were approved:

Phys 694.  Particle Physics.  The course will now meet MW 11:30am to 12:45pm in Spring 2010, one time only.

ARAB 181. Arabic I.  The course will now meet TU 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm starting Fall 2009 and ongoing.

Pending Unfinished Business:

Update Term Final Exam Policies and Procedures

The committee is still finalizing edits from the May 20th meeting.  The document will be sent for electronic vote soon.

New Business:

Response to requests from Admissions

Mike Perl expressed some frustration with new policies and procedures being implemented in the Admissions Office without input from the colleges.  Some examples include new transfer guides for the community colleges (TAG), an additional junior day added to the fall schedule, dual admission and dual advising with community colleges and K-State, and welcome week.  We discussed communication between the Admissions Office and the colleges and how to improve that communication.  CAPP suggests that Emily Lehning attend our meetings to help improve communication.  Ewanow will check with her to see if she is willing to attend.

Standing Reports:

Academic Affairs

No Report

Admissions/Financial Aid  (Moeder)

With June O&E coming up, we are expecting to lose some students to community colleges.  Also, we have fewer graduating high school seniors in Kansas.  The number of transfers may increase.  Prospective students have been slow to make decisions at each step in the application process.

Registrar

Still cleaning up SIS to iSIS transition.  Looking at upgrading iSIS and timing of that.

Provost’s Office

No Report

Continuing Education

Distance courses for intersession have been very popular.

Education and Personal Development

Still tracking students not enrolled.  Colleges will get retention reports in October.

Adjournment:

The meeting adjourned at 11:45 pm.

The next meeting will be July 8th, 2009 – Seaton 113 at 10:30 am.
