Dr. Manuel Moro's laboratory The cytoskeleton networking of tumors, and the non-cancerous, stromal cells within tumors have an important role in tumor progression. Alterations in gene sequences, expression levels, and protein structure or functions have been associated with every type of cancer. These molecular markers can be useful in detecting and monitoring disease progression or therapeutic response. My longterm goal in cancer research is to delineate key mechanisms that make a cancer cell be invasive and metastasize. I also aim to determine the interaction between infectious agents and cancer development. |
