Dr. Walter Dodds's laboratory

"We work with nitrogen in streams, rivers, and groundwaters. This includes dynamics of nitrate. Nitrate has been implicated as a carcinogen, and substantial numbers of drinking water sources in Kansas are contaminated with excessive amounts of nitrate. Some gastric and bladder cancers may be caused by drinking water contaminated with nitrate. Research in the Dodds laboratory is directed toward finding the sources of the nitrate and finding ways to correct the problem."
