About Us

The Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at K-State is a non-profit center devoted to basic cancer research and education. It was founded in 1980 by Dr. Terry C. Johnson, university distinguished professor of biology, who directed it until his death from cancer in Fall 2002. The current director is Dr. Rob Denell, university distinguished professor of biology. The center's driving force is its multi-disciplinary ensemble of talented faculty scientists and students, its insightful Advisory Council, its dedicated administrative staff, and most importantly, its generous donors—all striving to fulfill the mission of the Johnson Cancer Center.
