Schedule a Tour

A swirling dervish of brilliant colors and fascinating creatures awaits visitors to the Kansas State University Insect Zoo "Guided Tours," where entomologists and trained docents give more detailed information and answer any questions. Tours must be scheduled at least one week in advance. A minimum of 5 guests or a $15 charge are required for a guided tour.

Groups of 15 or more are only scheduled when we are not open to the public: Mondays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m. to noon. Please call 785-532-2847 to schedule a group tour.

During tours visitors are given the chance to touch and hold live critters in our "petting zoo." Alternatively, walk-in visitors can explore the zoo on their own.

Admission: Walk-in visitors are $2 per person, seniors are $1.50
Guided Tours: The cost is $3 per person and must be scheduled at least one week in advance.

Due to limited space, all groups of 15 or more must call in advance to schedule their visit. Groups that do not prearrange a visit may not be guaranteed admission. Tours and group visits may be arranged by calling 785-532-BUGS (785-532-2847).

If your group is exempt from sales tax, you must present a copy of your exemption certificate at the time of the sale. As stated in Publication KS-1520, Kansas Exemption Certificates, payment must be made by the entity on their checking account or on a credit/debit card issued to the entity. Acceptance of cash, personal checks, or personal credit/debit cards is not allowed for a tax exempt purchase.
