A swirling dervish of brilliant colors and fascinating creatures
awaits visitors to the Kansas State University Insect Zoo

 

Entrance to Insect ZooThe nationally acclaimed KSU Insect Zoo opened in 1999, and is housed in the old Dairy Barn on the campus of Kansas State University. occupying a ground floor space of just over 1,100 square feet.

The Insect Zoo features many exhibits of live insects and their arthropod relatives in naturalistic settings.

For a more in-depth discussion with trained staff, please call ahead to schedule a guided tour. During guided tours visitors can 'pet' some of the animals, including millipedes, walking sticks and tarantulas.

Hours:

Weekdays from 10-4. Saturday 11-2

Due to limited space, all large groups, schools, clubs, etc. must schedule a "guided tour"!

Tours (scheduled during normal operating hours) can be arranged by calling (785) 532-BUGS (532-2847).

Note: Beginning May 15, the intersection of Jardine and Denison will be closed.  To access the zoo you must approach from the south on Denison.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
