The Budget Office sets up all new position numbers – both for regular/budgeted positions and for temporary/non-budgeted positions.
To request a new Regular/Budgeted position
Please send two items to the Budget Office.
Once the Budget Office receives the letter and Position Data Sheet (PER-36) and the Budget Director approves the FTE, the position number will be created. The Budget Office will email the new position number to both the requesting department and Human Resources.
Note: Due to the hiring freeze currently in effect, the Budget Office also needs to see documentation that the department has been approved to set up a new position.
To request a new Temporary/Non-Budgeted Unclassified position
Please send a Position Data Sheet (PER-36) with the details of the position to the Budget Office. Once the position is created, the Budget Office will email the new position number to both the requesting department and Human Resources. It is helpful to have the name of the person in the department who should get this information noted somewhere.
Note: Due to the hiring freeze currently in effect, the Budget Office also needs to see documentation that the department has been approved to set up a new position.
