This is a chance for BSU members to learn about the traditions of Kwanzaa, watch performances, fellowship, and enjoy traditional African American Food. Come spend some time with us and wind down before week full of studies! This year, Kwanzaa will be celebrated at the International Student Center at 6:00pm on December 2nd.

Elections for the 2012-2013 Black Student Union Executive Board are Tuesday, April 24th. If you are still interested in a position you can still be nominated today or if you want to decline from a position that you were nominated for last week then you can do so as well. Please be prepared for a Q&A after you give a speech. Good luck to all who are running for a position!

The following positions will be allotted 3 minutes for presentation time and 3 minute for Q&A:

Most Outstanding BSU 2012!

For the fifth time in the last seven years, Kansas State University's Black Student Union has been named the most outstanding black student government council in the Big 12 Conference.

Shahna Campbell, a conference delegate, was named the most outstanding junior in the Big 12 Conference on Black Government

Lorenza Breckenridge III, was elected to a conference office.

AASU Veterans Tribute Study Session Replacement

This is just a reminder that the AASU Vietnam Veterans Tribute is tonight at 6-7pm with a Candlelight Vigil at 7:15pm. It will be held in the KState Ballroom. For those of you needing study session sign ins this is a great opportunity and will count if you attend. Bronson will be there for those of you who will be attending so that you can sign up. Family Day Football Tickets on Sale

BSU will be attending the Family Day football game Saturday, September 17th. Tickets will be sold in the Union Wednesday the 14th, Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th from 12-2pm. The cost for tickets are as follows: $8 for paid BSU members and $10 for non paid BSU members. We will be meeting at Marlatt Saturday at 4:30pm sharp. GO CATS!

To support Hispanc Heritage month, we ask that you go to the John Quinones from 20/20 lecture this friday September 16th at 6pm in Forum Hall.Once again, there will be no meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, but we will support Hispanic Heritage month and move the meeting to Friday and attend the John Quinones lecture. **We will meet in the MSO office at 5:45**

We will be talking about membership, the BIG 12 Conference, and also talk about the Mentor/Mentee program as well.
