BMA : Friends of the Beach : Holiday Workshop
 |
MANHATTAN — Young art museum visitors can get in the holiday spirit in December with help from some Kansas State University students.
The Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art at will put on a holiday workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art on the K-State campus. The annual workshop lets children create holiday-themed arts and crafts.
"The children's holiday workshop is a great time for everyone involved," Janelle Heideman, Student Friends president, said. "Naturally, the kids look forward to the crafts. But we enjoy working with them as much as they enjoy coming to the workshop."
A variety of art supplies will be provided. Cost is $5 per child and can be paid at the workshop. Adults must accompany children. Participants may come and go any time from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and refreshments will be provided.
"It's just in time to kick off the holiday season," Heideman said. "And with kids, crafts and cookies, you just can't go wrong. We're looking forward to the best workshop yet."
The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art is on the southeast corner of the K-State campus at 14th Street and Anderson Avenue. Admission is free, and complimentary parking is available adjacent to the facility.
The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, call 785-532 7718.
