Lasting Impressions: Print Portfolio of Contemporary
Native American Artists "Lasting Impressions" is a collaboration between master printer Jack Lemon and 10 Native American artists. The artists worked together to create a portfolio of prints representative of the current trends in contemporary Native American art. The exhibition is co-sponsored by the USD 383 Native American Parents Group. It is on loan from the Joseph Gross Gallery at the University of Arizona School of Art through the Arizona Commission on the Arts' Traveling Exhibition Program. The Museum is also offering several special events in conjunction with this exhibition: • Teachers' packages for all teachers who book class tours of the exhibition or who request packages by calling the museum at 532-7718. • Teachers' Workshop on Contemporary Native American Art, 4:30-6:30 pm, Wednesday, October 15. This workshop offers educational programming the exhibition, art as communication, and symbolism in art. Cost is $5 per person. Call 532-7718 for reservations. • Open House, 1-5 pm Sunday, October 19 co-sponsored by the K-State Native American Student Association and the Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art. • "Beyond Tradition: Contemporary Indian Art and its Evolution", a video, 7pm Monday, November 20.
