The Division of Biology at Kansas State University is currently seeking a full-time undergraduate advisor/instructor to start as early as January 2014. The successful applicant will be qualified and experienced in undergraduate advising, as well as teaching introductory biology. Applicants should have a M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in the biological sciences, significant demonstrated excellence in advising or mentoring undergraduates and demonstrated experience in biological science instruction at the community college, college or university level.
The successful applicant will play a significant role in the Division of Biology by personally advising undergraduate students; coordinating faculty advising appointments; hosting prospective student visits; and participating in campus events such as open house, student award ceremonies and graduation ceremonies. Teaching duties will ordinarily include one section of Principles of Biology per semester. This is a full-time, twelve-month, term position. We seek an individual who is motivated, ambitious, possesses excellent communication skills, and who can work in a collegial manner with all of their colleagues in a large, modern, and diverse university setting. Salary will be competitive, dependent on experience and other qualifications.
