"A Good Chapter Is a Singing Chapter."
Beta Theta Pi is "the Singing Fraternity," and in this regard the Gamma Epsilon chapter has a long tradition of excellence. Traditionally, our chapter's singing ability has been unparalleled at Kansas State University. In fact, Beta so dominated the Inter-fraternity Sing that it was eventually done away with. District Chief Arthur Hayes once said that Gamma Epsilon was the finest singing chapter that he had ever heard. In 1964, Gamma Epsilon became the first Beta chapter to cut a full record of chapter songs. Today, the tradition continues. Songs are ingrained in every aspect of the fraternity, from ritual to chapter to formal dinner to social events. We serenade sororities several times a year, and are in turn regarded as the finest singers on campus. Each year, pledges are required to learn at least twenty songs, though that is only an introduction to Beta's vast songbook.
Likewise, poetry is also an important part of Beta culture. Included below is a collection of songs and poetry for your enjoyment. We invite you to learn more of our fraternity's rich cultural heritage from these magnificent works.
