Melinda assists the department head and oversees the academic needs of the department. This includes textbook orders, the class line schedules, seminars, room scheduling, maintaining undergraduate student records, and departmental databases. She is responsible for key requests and records. Melinda assists the faculty as needed.

Shelli serves as assistant to the Biochemistry Graduate Group Chair and is responsible for all paperwork related to Graduate recruitment. She also serves as receptionist and assists Melinda Bainter as needed. She distributes reprints of faculty research articles.

Crystal oversees all aspects of the departmental finances. She is responsible for hiring procedures and processing payroll for all classified, unclassified, and graduate student employees; assisting faculty with grant budget issues from proposal to final reporting; obtaining bids for large equipment purchases; and billing for the NMR Facility.

Rebecca oversees the daily accounts payable functions for the department and oversees the office assistants who process the orders and payment documents. Rebecca is responsible for processing all travel for the department, reconciling the monthly statements, and hiring and processing payroll for all student hourly appointments
