Band Organizations @ K-State
The K-State Bands are very fortunate to have severeal affiliated and support
organizations.
Whether student affiliated, alumni, or community-based, the assistance and promotional
strengths of these groups helps to make the K-State Bands one of the strongest
organizations in the country.

Kansas State University Band Ambassadors is a student organization
that proudly represents many facets of the band program at K-State. The
Band Ambassadors are both music majors and non-majors. Our purpose is
to provide prospective band members with all the information they need
about what we offer at Kansas State. The Band Ambassadors represent the
KSU bands in many official capacities. |

| The KSU
Alumni Band is comprised of spirited and dedicated band members recent
years and decades past. They represent K-State at alumni and promotional
events around the state and participate alongside the KSUMB and Catband
at pep rallies and select athletic events throughout the year. |

| Kappa Kappa
Psi and Tau Beta Sigma are national organizations operating exclusively
in the field of college and university bands. The purpose of these organizations
is to provide leadership, support, and assistance to the band, the band
director, the school of music, and the sponsoring institution. |

| Manhattan
Municipal Band - Manhattan, Kansas has had a tax-supported Municipal
Band since 1920 when the city adopted a tax levy for that purpose. The
band played its first concert on the lawn of the Riley County Courthouse.
Over the years the band's membership has come from all conceivable walks
of life, including students, staff, and faculty from Kansas State University,
Manhattan Christian College and surrounding public schools, as well as
military and civilian personnel from nearby Fort Riley, representatives
of the community's diverse private sector, clergy, and retirees. |
