Here is a still photo of Jethro Runco (sans moustache, for those
of you who don't recognize him in this picture) holding an interesting
pair of birds; a recently-fledged female Hairy Woodpecker on the left and
a recently-fledged female Downy Woodpecker on the right. These birds were
banded on July 3, 2000. You can also look at a Quicktime
movie (814 KB, 11 seconds)of the release of these birds, where
it seems like the Hairy Woodpecker has become somewhat attached to Jethro...
