Undergraduate Illustration [Imaging]
Examining the evolution
Technology has not only created a distinct paradigm
for image-makers, it has also unlocked many new dynamic
opportunities in the studio arts. Electronic/digital
media has opened the door for the emergence of new possibilities
in expression and communication.
Likewise, illustration is no longer solely defined by
print or by producing elements with traditional tools.
The study of Illustration dynamically merges
fine art studio courses with core illustration and electric
imaging studios to provide an expanded visual language.
The usage of digital media has empowered artists, illustrators
and designers interested in inventive clarity to be
able to experiment and explore with ideas infinitely.
As a result of these advances and influences, the Department
of Art has established a framework for the meaningful
understanding of this powerful medium. The Imaging curriculum encourages both imaginative and interpretative experimentation and
exploration of art + design and technology.
Illustration [Imaging] is a concentration with a broad
range of applications and implications:
