Academic Information

Photography has always been an art form that has utilized technology as an aid in the creation of imagery. The degree in Photography/Digital Studio continues in this tradition by informing students about the historical concepts and techniques of chemical photography, and continuing forward with an investigation into new digital photography tools. Photography is a medium in flux, and it is vital that students have a firm foundation in both the past and the future.

Each of the core classes have been designed to take advantage of the resources that are already available to our department. The computer lab and courses already available in the Visual Communication area augment what is already established in the photo lab and together they begin to create a rich environment from which students explore the field of photography.
