MFA in VISUAL COMMUNICATION/DESIGN AND DIGITAL MEDIA AT
KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY


Individuals interested in the MFA program at Kansas State University should carefully consider the reasons for application. A review of professional organizations, (AIGA, Icograda) that support the development of the discipline and individual designer place emphasis on the following areas:

-the evolution of Visual Communication design as a profession

-the understanding of how the boundaries between disciplines are becoming more fluid

-a greater understanding of design and its impact on socio-cultural and natural environment systems

-the designers understanding of their impact on the visual landscape of culture

-the development of experts who conceptualize and articulate ideas into meaningful experiences

-the importance of enhancing the design profession by implementing ethical responsibility to avoid harm and takes into account consequences of design action to humanity, nature, technical and cultural feats.

-the development of individuals, organizations and creative committees who have a self reflective attitude and ability

The KSU MFA program encourages individuals who have interest in these ideas and issues to become part of the program.
