Graduate students have studio space separate from the undergraduate students. The graduate student is expected to be a mature, self-motivated individual with a solid but diverse background in metals. The graduate student is expected to do independent projects with occasional assignments to make up or improve his/her skills. Formal and informal reviews will be held as the need arises. There is a student organization which holds an Annual Repair Days. Trips to Art museums, workshops, and S.N.A.G. are encouraged.

Most graduate students have the opportunity to receive a GTA at some point in their three years. This teaching experience offers a valuable experience for future employment. Full GTA's consist of teaching 2 courses per semester, including a tuition waiver and a salary of $3,750 per semester. Other teaching opportunities become available on occasion.
