The Art Department has 17-22 full time committed faculty members, with over 400 art majors at the undergraduate level. This makes it one of the largest departments in the College of Arts and Sciences and one of the most popular in the university.

The department is currently housed in three buildings with Willard Hall being the primary one. MFA degrees are offered in the areas of: Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Metalsmithing & Jewelry, and Sculpture.
