MFA student in ceramics come from all over the US and Asia. They work in a diverse area from strictly functional to large scale sculpture. They utilize stoneware, lowfire, porcelain, earthenware, majolica and wood fired techniques. Experimentation is encouraged.

The students run an active Potters Guild which holds pottery sales on a regular basis. A trip to NCECA is a regular event as well as other field trips to workshops and artist studios.

Some of the recent alums of the program are Vicki Hanson, University of Southern Colorado, Jerri Griffen, Hutchinson Community College, and Glenda Taylor, Washburn University.

Most graduate students have the opportunity to receive a GTA at some point in their three years.

This teaching experience offers a valuable experience for future employment. Full GTA's consist of teaching 2 courses per semester, including a tuition waiver and a salary of $3,750 per semester. Other teaching opportunities become available on occasion.
