Position Announcement: Assistant Professor of Art - Drawing
Assistant Professor - Drawing, full-time, tenure track, beginning Fall 2010
MFA required. Strong exhibition record and college teaching beyond graduate teaching assistantship preferred. Responsibilities include: instruction of beginning through advanced drawing, including figure drawing, with an emphasis on foundation level drawing courses. Ability to teach using a wide variety of media and approaches, including drawing from observation. Research / creative work and teaching experience in an additional medium is also desirable. Achievement of a high level of teaching excellence and research is important to the Art Department and University, as is a participation in departmental and University service. K-State is a Carnegie 1 high level research university. Send letter of application, vita, 20 images of own work (15 of which must be drawings), 20 images of students' work, (slides or CDs, Mac friendly), a one page statement of philosophy of teaching drawing, three names of references with addresses, phone numbers and emails.
