Experimentation in form and expression.

The works that I have submitted are about discovery in design and personal expression.

The approach to this work is that of a graphic designer, illustrator and visual poet.

The visual stimulation is from experiencing trends in print and web design, commercial pop culture, technology, personal experiences, and personal visual inspiration.

The visual life of the work certainly takes a strong influence from
trends in print, web and commercial pop culture.

Synthesis > Reaction > Impression, Expression, Form and Style.

Synthesis is the gathering of elements... what brings them together is purely of the moment and based on my choices. The choices are personal and may not relate to one another. The relationship is usually based on the fact that it is part of my property, something I have created or something that I found.

Reaction is how compositions are started...in relation to elements chosen. When elements are layed out (physically or in the computer) I react personally and as a designer. Normally two or three elements are composed as a visual foundation and then built upon.

Impression, Expression, Form and Style are the result of reacting to the combination of visual elements... a series of decisions... artistic - design reactions...
