ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Narrative content has always been an important part of my work. The search for an image is a search for a formal structure that can support and illuminate the narrative without compromising it's abstract identity. I generally find that any theme that interests me cannot be sufficiently explored in a single image. Working on a series of related images over a period of several years, I try to maintain a freshness of vision and a sense that each image possesses a distinct visual identity while remaining true to the unifying concept.
