Presently working towards a Masters degree in College Student Development, KSU
Through my time spent as the student assistant to the Undergraduate Academic Advisor
for Art while an undergraduate at Kansas State, my career passion blossomed before my
eyes. I could not imagine attending a Master's program anywhere else, but the little
Apple and am currently pursuing my Master's with the College Student Development here
at Kansas State. My extensive experience with the Art Department at Kansas State, four
and half years as an Undergraduate, has created a huge impact on my life and therefore
I absolutely love my position as their academic advisor. Also creating a huge impact
in my life is my tight-knit family and my three younger sisters. My parents farm around
the Wichita, Kansas area and I owe much to my country childhood.
Our art students have the best of both worlds at Kansas State: an advisor whose sole
job and purpose is to advise them and assist them in their educational and career
decisions and an outstanding faculty and graduate students whose main concern is their
students educational and personal success. As your academic advisor I am not here to
mandate your courses, but rather am here to collaborate with you an academic plan of
accomplishment. This requires equal effort on both sides: the advisor and the student.
This is your education and your life: be proactive!
