Third year graduate student in metalsmithing and jewelry. I work in copper because of its ability to be easily shaped, textured, and colored to what I
desire. Taking a hard ridge material and developing it into a soft, beautiful form is one aspect of my work that I enjoy. Texture takes beautifully to copper, which allows me to create organic patterns that are not only visual but tactile too.

For me the pleasure in my work is not only in the viewing of my work, but also in the touching.  Nature is not only full of textures but also color. The ability to change copper to numerous different colors through patination allows me to bring each piece to its fullest potential.
