·ASSISTANT
PROFESSOR OF MILITARY SCIENCE, Kansas State University, Manhattan,
Kansas (August 2000 - Present).
PROFESSOR OF MILITARY SCIENCE, Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
(July 1998 - July 2000). Department Head for the Department of Military
Science. Responsible for recruiting, selecting, motivating, training,
retaining, and commissioning quality young men and women who will
be the future leadership of the Army. Direct, manage, plan and coordinate
the activities of the ROTC Battalion consisting of 24 cadre and over
130 cadets.
ASSISTANT DEAN FOR RESOURCES, OFFICE OF THE DEAN, United States Military
Academy, West Point, New York (August 1996 - July 1998). Responsible
for managing the Dean of the Academic Board's $20 million operating
budget supporting 13 academic departments, 10 research centers, and
a 700-person military and civilian staff and faculty.
BATTALION EXECUTIVE OFFICER, 1ST FINANCE BATTALION, Fort Riley, Kansas
(1992 - 1994). Second in command of a Finance Battalion consisting
of ten commissioned officers, 80 enlisted soldiers, and 200 civilian
employees responsible for providing timely and accurate financial
support to the 16,000 soldiers and civilians of the 1st Infantry Division
(Mechanized).
CHIEF, SPARES SUPPORT SECTION, U.S. ARMY TROOP SUPPORT COMMAND, St.
Louis, Missouri (1991 - 1992). Responsible for supervising the acquisition
of over $8.5 million of spare and repair parts for the Department
of Defense power generation program in support of Army and Air Force
tactical division and non-divisional units. Contracting Officer with
unlimited buying authority to support the Troop Support Command's
$2.5 billion acquisition program.
COMMANDER AND FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING OFFICER, 14TH FINANCE SUPPORT
UNIT (FSU), Bamberg, Germany (1987 - 1989). Responsible for the training,
administration, discipline, supply and readiness of a unit consisting
of 54 soldiers and 20 civilians in a European environment. Responsible
for timely, accurate pay support to the Bamberg Community consisting
of 14,500 military, civilians, and family members. Served as special
staff officer to the Commanding General on finance matters.
EXECUTIVE OFFICER/DEPUTY FINANCE OFFICER, 14TH FSU, Bamberg, Germany
(1986 - 1987). Responsible for performing all functions of the Commander
in her absence. Insured quality military pay service was provided
to the community. Directly managed the training program for the soldiers
in the unit.
DISBURSING OFFICER, FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING OFFICE, Fort Devens, Massachussetts
(1984 - 19 85). Managed and supervised the Disbursing Branch consisting
of three military and thirteen civilian employees. Responsible for
all collections and disbursements of over $200 million annually, to
include military and civilian payrolls, National Guard payrolls for
the six New England states, travel and commercial account payments,
and U.S. Savings Bonds.
CHIEF, PAY AND EXAMINATION (P&E) BRANCH, FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING
OFFICE, Fort Devens, Massachussetts (1983 - 1984). Responsible for
the overall management of the P&E Branch. Provided advice and
assistance in all areas pertaining to military pay, civilian pay,
travel pay, and commercial account payments to contractors and vendors.
INFANTRY PLATOON LEADER AND MORTAR PLATOON LEADER, Fort Richardson,
Alaska (1981 - 1983). Responsible for the training, developing, leading,
and maintaining a combat ready light infantry platoon capable of effectively
accomplishing any combat operation in an arctic or mountain environment.
Responsible for the welfare of approximately 33 soldiers and the maintenance
of all assigned weapons and equipment.
