The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha recognized three individuals at the 9th Annual Black Student Union Awards Ball on Saturday, May 15, 2004. Among the Awardees were Dr. Myra Gordon, Bro. Keener Tippin, and Miss Natalie Rolfe. Dr. Gordon was recognized for all the help and encouragement she has given our chapter over the course of the 2003-04 academic year. Tippin and Rolfe were both given the Alpha Excellence Award, the highest award given by our chapter on an annual basis. These two campus leaders have been instrumental in dealing with an ongoing struggle for equal representation and coverage with our campus newspaper, the Collegian. Also awarded, but not at the ball, was Bro David Griffin, Associate Professor in Education who has aided the frat any way he could and every way we asked him.
