The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Walk and Candlelight Vigil is a program that the Kappa Tau Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosts annually to commemorate the contributions of one our dear fallen Brothers. The program always falls on the MLK Observance Day and begins with a solemn Memorial Walk from several locations on campus.
This year the walk will begin at three (3) locations on campus to simulate how marchers walked from several different cities. We are requesting that all off campus students and community members meet at the Catholic Student Center on the corner of 17th and Anderson. All Students in the Derby and Van Zile Complex are asked to meet in the parking lot in between Ford and West Halls. All students coming from the Kramer Complex are asked to meet in the ARCK. The march will begin PROMPTLY at 6:00 p.m.

We will march to All Faith's Chapel on KSU campus where the Candlelight Vigil Ceremony will take place. The Choir from Bethel A.M.E. Church, Manhattan's oldest Black Church, will render two (2) selections, we will have a dramatic interpretation by KSU Theatre students, and there will also be a Keynote Address by the Presiding Elder of the 5th District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Bartalette Finney.
