A message
from our Advisor Dr. William

Alpha Nu Sigma initiated in 1979 by the American
Nuclear Society (ANS) is the national honor society for nuclear science
and engineering students. Nomination to the Kansas State University chapter of
the Alpha Nu Sigma Society is based primarily on scholarship but also considers
integrity and indicators of current or future achievement, such as leadership
positions held or demonstrated initiative in extra-curricular activities. It is
a pleasure for me, as Faculty Advisor, to work with the exceptional nuclear
engineering students who are part of our Alpha Nu Sigma chapter. We are
committed to expanding our nuclear engineering program at Kansas State
University and Alpha Nu Sigma provides a wonderful vehicle both to recognize
our deserving students and to conduct activities that carry the nuclear science
and engineering message into public forums. Together with our student ANS
chapter, we help with Engineering Open House, we raise funds to encourage
students to attend national meetings, and we host local meetings at which
nuclear topics are presented and/or discussed. We anticipate even more
activities in the future as our membership grows.
