Teaching Assistantships

Teaching Assistantships are available each semester. First preference is given to American Ethnic Studies Majors who have excelled in the Introductory class. Teaching Assistants lead weekly recitation sections of the program's introductory class (AMETH 160), where they review material presented in lectures, discuss issues, and assist students to understand basic concepts. They attend lectures and work closely with the instructor of the course, generally meeting on a weekly basis, for guidance and mentoring as Teaching Assistants. In addition to a salary, Teaching Assistants receive academic credit for this experience.
