There are a number of student organizations that promote Hispanic /Latino causes and provide for a cultural environment for many. There are social organizations and professional organizations that are of interest to our students. Most of the organizations have a link provided. In those cases that do not, we list the organization so readers will know that they exist.
Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO)
HALO is a student organization at K-State. We are dedicated to promoting the Hispanic culture on campus and throughout the Manhattan community. We also seek to develop leadership skills and encourage academic excellence.
Bilingual Education Student Organization (BESO)
The Bilingual Education Student Organization (BESO) is a nationally recognized organization in many universities throughout the US. The original BESO organization was founded in the early 1980's by bilingual education students who wanted to form a club/organization that was both community service oriented as well as supportive of the professional growth of its members.

Sigma Lamba Gamma Sorority
Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. is currently the largest and fastest growing historically Latina sorority in the U.S. Although historically Latina, many of our sisters are from various cultural backgrounds and ethnicities; Sigma Lambda Gamma is considered a multicultural sorority.
Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity
The men of the Phi Chapter are dedicated to fulfilling their commitment to Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc. That commitment consists of revolutionizing brotherhood, servicing the community, promoting scholarship and making K-State more aware of its cultural richness.
Developing Scholars Program
DSP selects undergraduate students to work as research assistants for KSU Faculty engaged in scholarly activities. The program is designed to provide academic, social, and financial support to students during their academic pursuits at Kansas State University.
Bridges Program
Bridges to the Bachelor's is a program sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and is aimed at under-represented minority students who wish to pursue careers in the Biomedical Sciences.
McNair Scholars
The McNair Scholar is an undergraduate with a record of academic success and big plans for the future. Very big, in fact: the program is for students who are seriously considering a teaching career at the post-secondary level.
Girls Researching Our World (GROW)
A network of partners to attract middle-school girls into career paths in math, science and engineering
Columbian Association of KSU
The Colombian Association of KSU exists to serve all members and Colombian people of the community, assist new Colombian students when they arrive in KSU, provide a fraternal environment among its members and encourage the members to keep alive their cultural expressions sharing them with the community.
Paraguayan Student Association (PSA)
PSA is dedicated to help new Paraguayan students adapt to the university environment and to be ambassadors of the Paraguayan culture on campus.
Black Student Union (BSA)
The Black Student Union is a student run organization on the campus of Kansas State University located in Manhattan, Kansas with a strong emphasis on academic, cultural, social, political, and leadership development.
The Costa Rican Student Association
Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences
MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences) is a student group that provides a local and national network of support for K-State students enrolled in agriculture, forestry, related sciences and other interdisciplinary subjects, such as rural sociology, applied anthropology, math, chemistry and biology.

The Academic Assistance Center provides a comprehensive and coordinated system for the identification, diagnosis, advisement, counseling, and referral of students to the various academic support services available at KSU.
Educational Support Services
Educational Supportive Services is a federally funded TRIO Program. Our goal is to help first-generation, low-income and disabled Kansas State University students earn their undergraduate degrees.
Trio Programs
The TRIO Programs are designed to identify promising students (Talent Search), prepare them to do college level work (Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math/Science), provide information on academic and financial aid opportunities to adults (Educational Opportunity Centers), provide tutoring and support services to students once they reach campus (Student Support Services), and support and encourage talented students to pursue Ph.D.'s (Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program).
