Unmanned Aerial Systems
The KSU AIAA Student Chapter is an organization that fosters the learning of the aerospace field. In addition to connecting
students with speakers and employers, the AIAA chapter hosts the Unmanned Aerial System design team. The task of this
design team is to create an automated flight vehicle to perform aerial reconnaissance.
In its first year at the 2011 AUVSI SUAS international competition, the KSU UAS team placed 5th overall! At the 2012
Competition, the team received the “Best Oral Brief Award” while placing 8th overall.
