ECM Door Replacement- April 28th, 2004: AGC officers helped to remove an old door and frame damaged by high winds in a spring thunderstorm. The wind caught the old door and split the wood on the frame, tearing it from the wall. Workers removed the old door and door frame, then installed new framing members with treated lumber. Work then began on hanging, shimming and plumbing the door, setting it in place and installing new and old hardware with door closures. The door jamb was attached and interior trim replaced. A new spring-tension chain was installed to prevent the door from being caught by the wind and preventing similar damages in the future. The old exterior trim was then reinstalled and the final step was to make the door weather-tight by applying a full bead of door caulking around all exposed edges of the door. |
