The Symposium sessions will be held in the Marriott Tower of the historic Muehlebach Hotel in downtown Kansas City. Known as "Kansas City's Hotel of Presidents", every president from Woodrow Wilson through Ronald Reagan stayed in the Presidential Suite. Among its other celebrity guests were Babe Ruth, the Beatles and Elvis Presley.

The Marriott has reserved a block of rooms for symposium participants at the low rate of $135 per night (single/double occupancy). After 5/21/09 (or prior to 5/21 if the room block is sold out), reservations will be accepted at the hotel’s prevailing rate (up to $300). The on-site parking fee is $13 daily. More about the hotel...
This building has both state and federal historic landmark status.  The original building was built in 1915 and owned by George E. Muehlebach who also founded Muehlebach Beer and built Muehlebach Field.  When the Marriott Corporation assumed control of the "original" Muehelbach in 1996, it spent two years and millions of dollars restoring it in accordance with guidelines for historic structures.  The original Muehlebach Hotel lobby and registration desk with "pigeon hole" mailboxes, "sit-down" phone booths and period lamps, was restored by Marriott to meet historic preservation standards.
