SYMPOSIUM PROGRAM
The symposium will begin Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. with an opening keynote presentation and welcome reception. Friday and Saturday will feature a keynote presentation, talks by featured speakers, abstract presentations and two poster sessions. The talks will conclude Saturday at 4:00 pm. An optional evening of Kansas City Jazz and Barbecue is planned for Saturday night. On Sunday morning, you are invited to participate in a roundtable discussion led by members of the ArthropodBase Consortium regarding the generation of integrated arthropod genome databases, tools for genome analysis, and community annotation. The meeting will conclude Sunday at noon.

A pre-symposium Workshop on Chado databases and integration with GMOD tools is scheduled for Thursday, 4:30 to 6:30 pm. A Seminar on genomic sequence capture Next-Gen sequencing, sponsored by Roche NimbleGen, will be presented Friday evening.

POSTER ABSTRACTS      
The deadline for submission of poster abstracts has been extended to Friday, June 5. The platform presentations have been chosen from submitted poster abstracts. Please follow the abstract submission guidelines and submit by e-mail to dmerrill@k-state.edu on or before Friday, June 5.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
The Marriott Hotel in downtown Kansas City has reserved a block of rooms for symposium participants at the reduced rate of $135/night. The DEADLINE for reservations is Thursday, May 21, 2009. After 5/21, reservations will be accepted at the hotel's prevailing rate (up to $300). The on-site parking fee is $13 daily. SATURDAY NIGHT BBQ DINNER and JAZZ
An optional dinner of Kansas City Barbecue with Jazz by the Kerry Strayer Trio will be held Saturday night at Fiorella's Jack Stack Freight House. Cost of the optional banquet is $50 ($25 for students). Transportation will be provided.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
We continue to welcome your registration and attendance! The registration fee includes a welcome reception Thursday evening, breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. The Saturday evening dinner is not included in the fee.
Early Registration Deadline is Friday, March 20: $295 ($150 for graduate and undergraduate students).
New! Lower Registration Fees, until May 15:
                   $345 ($175 for students).

After Friday, May 15
: Registration will be $395 ($225  for students).

Refund Policy

If you must cancel your registration, do so as soon as possible.  Substitutions are encouraged.  A full refund, minus a $10 administrative fee, will be made if cancellation is received by the Division of Continuing Education by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2009.  After that date, due to guarantees we must give, refunds are not available.  Refunds cannot be given in amounts less than $5.00.  Registrants who do not cancel their registration through Conference Registration are responsible for the total conference registration fee even if they do not attend the conference and have not paid the registration fee.

Cancellation Policy
The Division of Continuing Education may cancel or postpone any course or activity because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances.  If a program is canceled or postponed, the Division of Continuing Education will refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for other costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.
